It all begins with a client brief, a problem to be solved, a wow moment to be created. After being contacted by an existing or new client we plan a meeting to go over the brief and discuss ideas together. Afterwards, the Gloss Creative team meet at the studio table to go over the meeting notes, only to let the concepts start to spill out. Amanda will begin sketching as the team talk about the inspiration.
Once we all have a clear way forward, the Graphic Designers take Amanda’s drawings and turn them into a 3D illustration and the Interior Designer draws up options for the floor plan. The illustrations & floor plans are presented to the Gloss Creative team to discuss, then are refined over and over until they are perfectly reflecting the concept vision. Meanwhile, the Production Team are pulling together a beautiful presentation to outline all the big ideas as well as the important small intricate details. Once the illustrations are complete then the presentation is printed and bundled into a Gloss signature black envelope. Finally ready to be presented to the client. From here there is always more refinement, blossoming of new ideas, reality of budget and time constraints, but always an ending with a magnificent grand plan.
As soon as the concept is signed off, we go straight into production mode, turning the illustration and written ideas into artwork that can be sent off to suppliers, sourcing and collecting samples of materials, furniture and objects to be used. Mock ups of the installation elements are made and continually refined as we go. We begin planning the installation date, the team, the timing, the equipment and all the paperwork to go with it. When it comes time to install we are all hands on deck. We work with a huge range of talented creators to pull everything together. Lastly, but very importantly we have our work photographed as what we do is mostly always temporary, so we have to make sure to capture the magic.
