NGV’s loved gallery spaces are almost unrecognisable as they are transformed into a series of spectacular dinning and party celebrations inspired by NGVs ground breaking Escher x Nendo Exhibition.
With a holistic approach to event design the Gala immerses its audience in a beguiling ephemeral design.
We wanted to acknowledge the art of Escher and Nendo’s visual response to it without creating new versions of the award winning exhibition design already created.
The Gala, dinner and party needed to become its own stand-alone design.
The Dining Room design linked the grandest visual gestures in each gallery with lasers scanning the room with mathematical precision.
Paintings were removed and rotating laser graphics took their place within the halls.
