NGV Gala ALEXANDER MCQUEEN 2022
Paying homage to the iconic themes from Alexander McQueen’s exhibition ‘Mind, Mythos, Muse’ — we merged art, hospitality and design to deliver storytelling for a new generation.
An intoxicating mix of dark dystopian dreams reflected McQueen’s highland heritage. The rough beauty of the red carpet shocked guests. Moody drama ensued, with fine black veiling creating large architectural volumes. Dramatic moving images transported diners to another world. Digitally printed tartan table tops juxtaposed with over-scaled wildly floral sculptures expressing — decay and luxurious beauty. All were kept for reuse at the gallery. Logistically we were challenged. Yet the collaborative approach by all teams made a seemingly impossible dream possible.
