NGV Gala celebrated ‘Crossing Lines’, an exhibition of 80s icons Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat. Covering 3700 sqm of normally sedate galleries, no mirror ball was left unturned as it immersed its audience in the culture, art and fashion of an era defined by its wild exploration of the individual.

Installed within five days ‘Disco Wonderland’ created a bold vision for the NGV, we transformed 6 gallery spaces into New York’s sexiest 80s Club as an experience for 400 dinners.

On top of glittered lurex carpet a back bone of booth setting created a grand and repetitive structure throughout the galleries. Custom designed dinning tables were individually routered and inlaid with mirror balls and thousands of mirrored shards reflecting light over the spaces.
Each room had its own colour palette and floral nuance, collectively the flow of colour created a dream like state.

A sleek truss arrival pavilion, an over-scaled mirrorball installation for 1200 Instagram hungry guests, a discotheque with chunky analogue truss with blacklight floral installations and a dance floor with kinetic moving lighting system overhead.

In our third year, Gloss Creative has provided creative and design direction, creative development and installation for what is now becoming Australia’s foremost Gala experience.
